Confidence is the most important trait to possess as a screenwriter. If we worry whether people will judge our screenwriting, we secretly fear criticism.

Our ego wants us to feel appreciated for our hard work. For the most part, criticism is treated as raining on our pride.

Do yourself a huge favor to silence that ego. Don't worry about pride. The first draft of anything will never become the final product.

Just write the pages. Grow the characters. Positive encouragement can boost our confidence; however, it is not a long-term fix.

What matters is that you write the pages. You read. You take notes. You give your best effort. Most importantly, you write every day...
